The current study analyses factors affecting structural properties of acoustic signals produced by female croaking gouramis Trichopsis vittata during agonistic interactions. WebThere is no standard set of equipment and techniques for the study of hearing and sound production in fishes. The most important issues for both types of study is the use of hydrophone with calibration traceable to a standard, and a linear recording device (i.e., without automatic gain control) with sufficient bandwidth.
