WebJan 9, 2015 · Leave until soft. Put ~2oz of wintergreen oil into a pan with enough water to cover a set or two of carb boots (maybe 1/2-3/4 gallon depending on pot size). Put a screen in the bottom so they don't touch the pan, and heat them to near boiling (when those little bubbles start forming on the boots) for 30 minutes.
